You did, but you argued it would lead to a no deal exit. However, the fear of no deal consequences among mps is strong enough to push them into accepting may's revised deal.

As to your second point, leaving is under the conditions of EU law. Extension requests are to be initiated by the leaving member, and making such a request is governed by UK law, i.e. the benn bill.

Oh dear, even Brexit Boris cannot satisfy the purists. Strange that the 17.4 million ignored UKIP in their droves at the last election, thus demonstrating that nobody wants their brextremist nightmare.

The 17.4 ignored UKIP because labour and the tories stood on manifestos to leave the EU.

Get your facts in place.

But law says:

The condition in this subsection is that a Minister of the Crown has laid before each House of Parliament a statement that the United Kingdom has concluded an agreement with the European Union under Article 50(2) of the Treaty on European Union and a copy of the agreement and—

(a)the agreement has been approved by resolution of the House of Commons on a motion moved by a Minister of the Crown, and

(b)a motion for the House of Lords to take note of the agreement has been tabled in the House of Lords by a Minister of the Crown and—

(i)the House of Lords has debated the motion, or

(ii)the House of Lords has not concluded a debate on the motion before the end of the period of two Lords sitting days beginning with the first Lords sitting day after the day on which the House of Commons passes the resolution mentioned in paragraph (a).

Let's hope boris can achieve that before 19 october, otherwise

(3)If neither of the conditions in subsection (1) or subsection (2) is satisfied, subsection (4) must be complied with no later than 19 October 2019.

4)The Prime Minister must seek to obtain from the European Council an extension of the period under Article 50(3) of the Treaty on European Union ending at 11.00pm on 31 October 2019 by sending to the President of the European Council a letter in the form set out in the Schedule to this Act requesting an extension of that period to 11.00pm on 31 January 2020

Re: Here Comes Boris' Deal

Labour, LimpDems, SNP and the DUP all refusing to back this new rehashed Theresa May deal on Saturday, so Boris has his work cut out to get it through Parliament. How is he going to persuade MP's to back him with a majority of minus 45, and the Motley crew baying for a second referendum in their desperate last ditch attempts to have Brexit cancelled.

Who knows? maybe they will get their way and a second referendum comes into being. Nothing surprises me any more. But MP's should remember, they cannot put off a GE forever, they will have to face the public eventually, and boy, when they do, they had better be ready to accept the slaughter that is coming their way at the ballot boxes. It will be wholesale and well deserved justice for their treachery.

The EU (Juncker, Macron et al) will not allow an extension according to the media. This is good news for Brexiters as it means that from Sunday we could be on the last few days of EU membership finally and leaving on our terms rather than theirs.
