Germany starts to slip into recession

A catastrophe looms for the EU and in particular the Eurozone.

Remember last time Germany went into recession in the 90s ? This time expect a lot worse....

France will get shafted big style because of this .... there has never been more desperation by the EU for our membership and 39 billion.

The 27 will soon become 26+1 (bankrupt Ireland causing the UK to walk away) and Italy starting to print Lira....

Time for us to leave now.

On the contrary it seems to me like there's only the PM trying to get us out if the EU, but she's trying to do it in a way that protects industry and tens of thousands of livelihoods. Personally I've no problem with that and am in awe of her tenacity and single mindedness in that regard...

Another way of looking at this is the the EU negotiators and the EU council are nothing more than glorified civil servants. They have nothing to lose and if it goes legs up they still get to keep their job while the 27 pick up the tab.

Theresa May might be a remainer but I think she realisies that staying the EU is no longer her best option

Nonsense

May is working for the EU. She has tabled the blackmail deal that the EU clearly gave to her to present. It's not even a Withdrawal Agreement, it's a Stay In The EU Agreement.

Pitiful

The lengths the EU are going to in order to obstruct our leaving is staggering. They control our government. It is shocking.

Under the terms of the TREATY we are permitted a Withdrawal Agreement as one of the 2 legal ways out. The EU is NOT offering us any Withdrawal Agreement.

The deal it is offering does not see us actually withdraw but leaves us under EU rules and control pretty much indefinitely.

It's a desperate situation suggesting that our democracy and associated processes are a complete illusion and that we actually live in an EU dictatorship using a fake political system to create the illusion of democracy. Brexit has pulled back the curtain allowing people to see it for what it is.

We MUST leave with NO DEAL.

It is THE ONLY WAY we will ever leave

I don't believe May or anyone else is going to permit us to leave. They are working for the EU.

The government needs to be replaced with someone willing to honour the referendum, but it doesn't look like there is anyone who isn't or can't be controlled by the EU.

Laughable opinions if not so tragic, we all want to be shut of the EU heirarchy but we shouldn't want to destroy trading relationships and tens of thousands of jobs in the process. The phrase "cutting off your nose to spite your face" always seems to come to mind.....

No-deal Brexit threatens 100,000 German jobs
A no-deal Brexit would jeopardise at least 100,000 jobs in Germany and up to 50,000 in France because of a slump in exports, according to a study.

Economists have calculated that 15,000 workers in the German car industry — roughly one in 100 — could be made redundant if formidable trade barriers sprang up with Britain.

The blow would be felt in much of the world but it would fall most heavily on high-tech manufacturing centres such as Wolfsburg, the home of Volkswagen, and Böblingen, a suburb of Stuttgart where Siemens and IBM are leading employers.

I am surprised we don't hear more about the people in Germany and France lobbying their parliaments to make a deal with the UK with so much at risk for them.

Re: Germany starts to slip into recession

Hi

The EU have offered a simple WTO Free Trade Deal.

We turned it down.

The WTO Canada style deal is the basis of the Malthouse Compromise which some MPs are trying to get a vote on.

Mrs May is having none of it.
