Thanks everybody. Originally the idea was to make it low maintenance. It was a mess before & I just wanted something that looked neat & tidy. I bought a few plants to stand in pots on the gravel and my interest just grew from there.

It's all good though because hubby isn't interested in the garden at all but this I can look after myself.

Now I can't stop buying plants.
