Hula Hoop

I've gone and got myself a fitness hoop! Any tips on how to use it? I can't get it to spin, it keeps falling to the floor!!!

I've seen a video on You Tube. It sounds so easy from the expert but it certainly isn't!!!!!!

Anyone else got one and does it keep you fit?

Re: Hula Hoop

Lol.... yes, I use one at the gym for 10mins before I pack up for the day. It does help to keep you trim but when you first start using one it can make you feel a bit bruised around the middle - you know, on the bony bits around your rib cage if it hits them!!

Re: Hula Hoop

The WiFit I bought a few years ago has a hoolahoop game and that certainly helped my back problem.
No idea if a real hoop would be better ... as far as I can remember you don't actually swivel, once it gets going you just move your pelvis back and forth

Yes c'mon Joy ... VIDEO

CC ... you are not alone.
I've got one too and it just plops down and hits my knees.

Please give me some tips when you manage it

Re: Hula Hoop

Someone brought a hoop into work and I was rubbish at it. With a bum my size too . Other folk were fab. It's all in the technique, which I don't have

Re: Hula Hoop

I used to hula hula with the best of them but a big hoop is much easier, the smaller the hoop the more difficult it is from what I remember.

Re: Hula Hoop

Oh my goodness - I had a hoola hoop when I was 15! Are they the fad again? I didn't know!!
Of course I was brilliant at it then but I never really bothered with one since.

Bet I couldn't do it now. Keep practicing Joy. There's a technique to it.
