Live Aid concert 13 July 1985

Did you attend the concert? If yes, how was it? What was the vibe like? How old were you? Did you know that this was an historical event?

If you did not attend, why not?

Re: Live Aid concert 13 July 1985

I was in my teens. I wanted to go but in my teens I was a cheap skate and because I knew it was being shown live on the BBC, I decided to save my money and watch it live in the warmth of home. I still regret that decision because looking back on it, it is one of those once in a life time experiences.

I was mid 20s, during that period I would have been in the Pub.

I was a teen. Watched it with my boyfriend's at his parents' place. I think the tickets sold out pretty quick. We may have gone but some of the acts were definitely not up boyfriend's street. He was such a music snob.

I was 33, a bit of a music snob, not liking stadiums, preferring small indi arty gigs.

Impressive lineup looking at it now. I saw bits at home and bits at the AdLib bar. Most memorable: Jagger/Bowie Dancing In The Street, not a live performance.

A generous friend held an all-day party in a large house to watch the event - there were multiple TVs with integrated sound - it was like watching the event from a VIP lounge .....

But there’s plenty of Pub days and just one LiveAid concert!

Oh my word, I was a wee lass then but even I knew it was history in the making! By the way, well done on your eggcellent photography
