Re: Brexit - The Biden Effect?

Back on subject is this:
"The rush to set a British narrative about the US election is as nonsensical as it is self-serving "

Since we're told by both sides that there are less than two weeks before a decision must be reached, let's see if that holds trues.
After all we've waited since the end of June 2016.
What's another few weeks?
Funny, isn't it? As the weeks go by, all we hear is 'X more weeks to go'!

I have a nasty feeling that when we get to 31st December we'll hear 'just two more weeks to go'!

Just remember 70% of you COVID relief budget came from Westminster ... you might want to remind Wee Jimmy Crankie about that and that she is going to be under a lot of scrutiny now regarding the mess she has made of Scotland. The SNP are getting found out, it's no wonder your wanting to run away.

A trade deal with America?
How much do we sell to America?
How much do they sell to us?

Do we really need a trade deal with America?

Canada & CPTPP well underway.
Heck, even Amazon have said that their European HQ will stay here.

Ah, that explains it .... you're one that Nic's propaganda has worked on!
I'm a Scot.
So I know that not all Scots think the way you do.

Tell me: what sort of independence do you think you want?
I'm puzzled because being part of the UK has allowed us Scots great independence but you want to give that up for EU-style independence?
You know, the sort of independence that won't even allow Catalonians the opportunity to decide themselves.
The sort of independence that makes you pay more for less autonomy than you have now, given you will have to accept the Euro as currency; EU taxes; and EU laws.

If you want to carry this on feel free.
But do so in another thread instead of bringing your bigotry here please.

I have always said that if the majority of Scots want to leave the UK and join the EU as a very minor member state (assuming the EU will have them), let them do so.

Financially, it would certainly be to the advantage of the English (and Welsh and N.Irish if they want to stay).

Personally, I don't think that the majority of Scots, apart from feeling that they have their own special political party, really want to leave the UK. They have far too much common sense.

I suspect that the desperation around that very subject is yet another remainer construct.

The reality is that the UK is well on the way to becoming part of CPTPP.
Besides Japan we know that Australia, New Zealand and Singapore are willing and that talks have been held between the UK and all CPTPP members.

Biden is very pro-CPTPP.

Apparently, Biden is going to push all "trade deals" to the back of the queue, for about a year, as he sets about fixing the USA first.

I think he means the UK! (again)
