Being filmed at work

They have put up cameras throughout the building where I work, they have always had them in reception but now everywhere except loos are being filmed. Some people are completely stressed out and raging about it but I don't have a problem. I know I do my job to best of my ability and any chat is while I am working I don't just stand around so I don't feel I have anything to worry about.

Was just curious how would you all feel about being filmed as you work ?

They are not allowed to use them to check if you are doing your job correctly, they can only use them for security reasons.

Have them where I work and you get used to them, I never even think about it.

In reception they are used to check times we come in and leave as well as security. They check the timesheets we fill in ourselves against the camera times a few times a month just to make sure no one is telling fibs on the sheets.

Throughout the building they are because of a spate of thefts but I am sure they will be seeing who is working or not. Don't have a problem with that myself it's a better check than having someone physically there watching us which is the only other way to check really.

We have them in certain areas of the garage at work, where expensive tools and equipment are, and on the shelves in the commercial parts section, which i only walk through about twice a day. Otherwise no they they wouldn't bother me if they were watching me work, i would probably wave and smile

You'll just have to get used to it Julie, nothing can be done about it, they use any excuse to install them, usually security and theft, but all they really want to do is keep you on your toes, big brother has been here for quite a while now and he's getting stronger by the day.

Re: Being filmed at work

It's not bothering me Jem I actually think it could be a good idea, I like the thought they will see who disappears regularly and who is actually doing the work.
