Barniers back!

Michelle Barnier has returned after a long absence!
Just in time to make an obviously remainer co-ordinated
Statement to the media!
I wonder who he is in cohorts with?
I suppose we can take our pick on that?

Regards Donkeyman!

Barnier, returned from a well deserved vacation. He, just like tusk and juncker, is in function till november 1. They all stayed on to make sure the UK leaves. So please, no extension, just take your leave, so the old garde can wave goodbye to the UK
Barnier's negotiating team for brexit has been dismantled some months ago because, as you know, negotiations between EU and UK are long since over.

He's still arguing the toss about the backstop though.

As a faithful member the UK pays its monthly membership dues. So the 39 bn is reduced to 31 bn, and you continue paying.

Are you referring to Johnson or Barnier?

Johnson is still hoping to get a deal but wants the backstop removed.

Barnier has said the backdrop will not be removed as there is no credible alternative which sounds like a statement rather than an argument

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what johnson is not doing.

I think no deal Brexit will be a much stronger option by end of 3rd Sep and game over for you guys

Re: Barniers back!

I notice now there is a push by rebel MPs to get through a bill to exclude 'no deal' Barnier has again hardened his stance on the backstop

The main proposal of the Remain-supporting MPs seems to be to get an extension of article 50 until May to give time to have yet another referendum something favoured by Tony Blair. After May the EU will have difficulties with their budget so will want a resolution.

If the Leavers lose the vote and no deal is blocked the obvious course of action is an election ASAP. If we look at the results of the EU elections and the success of the Brexit party also the Tory lead in the polls that could bring the Tories a majority and get leaving the EU done but not before the end of October .

This week should make interesting viewing on the Parliamentary channel.
