Mosaics

Only a novice, but started doing mosaics classes towards the end of last year. Thus is one of the slightly larger pieces I made - A small side table.

Re: Mosaics

Very good Tracy doing a craft like that is all-absorbing isn't it and takes you right away from everyday worries.

I used to go to pottery classes and loved the sense of achievement from finishing a piece .

Thank you! Yes, it's really good to get yourself into a project and see it evolve each week. Even then, with mosaics, you don't really fully appreciate what it will look like until it's grouted. Pottery must be the same as firing and glazing changes pieces, I'm sure.

Very nice Tracy, I wouldn’t mind trying that myself.

Well done!

Re: Mosaics

Brilliant Tracy, nothing novice about that. I have always fancied doing a really big mosaic but never got around to it. I made a mirror once and I know how heavy they can be.

Thank you! They are incredibly heavy once grouted hence the fact that this table, which was a folding one, had to have a set of legs made to make it more stable once I'd done the top

It's very therapeutic - you should give it a go!
