We are not completely locked in, unless we have Covid19, or think we might have it, we can still go shopping, go for walks, meet single people outside, all at the required distance. It isn't total lock in.

Physically we may not be locked in, mentally and emotionally is a completely different matter though. Possibly for some people that will prove far worse. Take those whose mindset is not quite as positive as other's and also don't overlook the survival instinct in all of us, it's going to be the threat to this that affects people and their mental health and in very different ways too.

Yes, the media (and a lot of politicians) loves to over-exagerate things. Fortunately, I'm going back to work in the morning, after being furloughed for 2 months.
