Re: My attempt at poetry
Loved the poem Alberta, not so much an attempt, more a success I'd say.
I can't relate to your experience though, the only times I have spent all night out in the country was during several twenty four hour running events over the moors. Wet, cold, mud up to the thighs and in just shorts and running top, with a ten pound load on your back [safety equipment] and not knowing where you were half the time. But it was all forgotten when you enjoyed a shower, cooked breakfast [lovingly prepared by the WRVS] and a sleeping bag in a warm scout hall.
'Never again' was frequently heard, but I ended up doing at least one every year for ten years, and every year the same old faces would be present.
