The problem we have here in the UK is the way we interpret it.

It is to protect the rights of decent, ordinary people, not terrorists.

The EU couldn't sign up to the EHCR even if it wanted to. It would mean it would, for example, have to completely revisit housing and pull down Italian and French apartment blocks because they do not comply with the EHCR rules over housing and living spaces.

The EU is not a trading block - it ceased to be one when it became the European Union, ramming its constitution into law by the back door and forcing second referendums

The EU is a soclialist ideology that only has one objective and that is to control Europe through Germany and remove all nationality, borders and identity from its "member states".

The Green New Deal from the Dear Leader is an absolute shocker when you read what it is aimed to deliver - complete isolation and political separation from everything but itself. Its a new design under the same principles of socialism and as we see over and over again, it fails again and again and again.

Socialists love it though - they think its something new and different etc.

Except it isn't if you first understand the EU's ultimate goal and then dissect each of their policy's bit bit but to reveal the real agenda behind it.

The EU is a zombie project, failing further every day. I'm just relieved the UK isn't going to be destroyed along with it, when it implodes.

Nothing to do with agreeing. That is related to opinions. I just stated a fact that anyone can easily check. Any opinion, from whoever, cannot change that fact

If you want to debate, first be careful and knowledgeable enough to get acronyms correct.

Whoever thinks the green deal is new, should read the UK climate change bill. It's much more ambitious than that green deal.
Only problem is, the UK achieved none of their goals, even though they are kegally binding. So in the end, nothing new there.

You live in the Netherlands & they are not leaving, so it won't affect your life....so why can't you let the British people make up their own minds about what is best for them.
If we have made a mistake, you won't suffer so you can just smile and say "I told you so".
If we have made the right decision, we can do likewise!

You weren't even born in Europe & maybe can't understand the concept of a government acting on a majority vote by the people of their nation !
In short, the people of the UK don't care what others in the EU think.... we are doing what we feel is right for our own country so please give your constant criticisms a rest....they are getting boring!
Twink, I'm not angry with the UK, why should I? Your country made a choice, and ultimately enacted it. During that period I constantly made it clear I respected that democratic choice, but I never hid my opinion that I thought and think it a stupid choice. You need not agree with that opinion, but you should defend my right to uphold an opinion.
I also gave arguments why it was the wrong choice, but with a project fear soundbyte thinking was prevented in brexiters minds. But that was the problem to begin with

As far as I am concerned, you already left, you are a foreign entity. A third country now trying to get a trade deal, but not on its own merits but moaning "once we were such good pals"! And therefire wanting a treatment that is not acceptable in setting up trade. It smacks of hypocrisy, unworthy of a proud people like the brits.

I don't know how long you have been posting here but I can tell you that Solasch has been criticising the UK for leaving, since his first post, and he doesn't post on other topics! Surely anybody who is so desperate for the UK to remain must have have a good reason for thinking that way. I just want to know what the answer is

Believe me, British people like to make their own decisions & that is why the majority chose to leave the EU.... so why argue when the decision has already been made?
Sorry twink, I did post on other topics (mainly in politics), but opinions do not diverge much between posters. For me its not clear why opinions are that similar (minor differences are blown up in magnitude, so as to make for a discussion).

Your "New Green Deal" is a follow up to Greta Thunberg (remember her?) and in direct response to the demands of a child.

As for the UK - check out our green credentials, you will see we are about the best (if not the best) in the 28, while we were still a member state.

The EU, in order to achieve their targets have to completely modernise Romania, Poland, Spain etc - that's going to cost a lot. An awful lot.

In fact, so ,much that 35% of your new budget is dedicated to "cohesion" (giving your money away to Poland and Romania - they have more seats than you anyway) and 30%+ to the Green New Deal itself.

Good luck with that one !

You're right, children have the future, old man.

You see, therein lies the difference between the UK and EU. By investing in other countries, we improve the climate (which extends countries and continents as you maybe know).

You read up on emission rights and its sale?

Well now the Brits have acted on the nations choice, we find it a bit boring to continue listening to those who strongly tried to change our minds.
Of course we are trying to get the best trade deals we can, but now we can trade with the rest of the world without the permission of the EU !

Absolutely, like the deal with austealia?
When it comes to access to the UK’s 60 million–plus consumers, a one-on-one deal might improve Australia’s prospects.
The independent UK is a smaller market than the EU, which in negotiating terms means Australia can expect to make fewer painful concessions to secure improved market access through this free trade agreement than it would have were it negotiating with a combined EU28. To grossly oversimplify, the opportunity to sell beef more competitively to 60 million people is “worth” less than the chance to do so to 450 million.
Australia is likely to head into this FTA the way it heads into most of them: farms first. Australia*is locked out by tariffs*from much of the UK market in agricultural sectors where it is strongly competitive including beef, lamb and dairy. They should*prepare for a fight. The UK farm lobby feels besieged by Brexit and its resultant export barriers to Europe, by the uncertainty around the UK’s post-EU subsidy regime and looming US trade negotiations. They are unlikely to be in any mood to throw open the gates, and ministerial ambition for conclusion within the year will probably flounder on the rocks of agriculture.

Whatever you feel is likely or unlikely, I prefer to let our trade dealers handle negotiations & nobody will know if it is good deal till the results are clear in a few years time!
As somebody who has worked in finance all her life I know where my bet would go!
