I see you're in need of a good newspaper? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/u...-a9597696.html

They can't agree even on the slightest thing:

EU chief negotiator Barnier said in a statement that "the next round of negotiations" would be 20 July and that there would be "discussions" in London next week, while the UK's David Frost said "talks will continue next week in London as agreed in the revised terms of reference".

So looks like we are digging our heels in which is great !

The longer this goes on, the weaker the EU look to the rest of the world and the stronger the UK looks.

You could be quite right. The european parliament resolution also reiterates Parliament’s full support for the EU’s Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier in his talks with the UK, based on the political mandate given to him by the EU member states and Parliament resolutions. Having the UK cherry-pick certain policies and its access to the single market after Brexit is “unacceptable” for the EU, says the text.

The world is not blind. EU demands exist only in exchange of the deal requested by the UK (the "ambitious" one of Mrs May). If global UK does not ask for a deal EU cannot impose anything.
The UK just continues to make excessive demands without any concessions. They’re asking the EU to buckle and go against the very principles of the bloc just to make political hay.
Not clever with the japanese, australians and new zealanders watching.

So, it's back to that old saw is it? We're the ones doing the cherry picking again? What a load of tosh.

As for Barnier getting the full backing of the EU Parliament, I wonder how long it will be before, just like a football team's Board of Directors supporting a failing manager, they decide that they can't support him any more and out on his ear he goes?

Well, they sent him into the present "speeded up" negotiations with that clear mission: do not accept cherry picking by the british!
So far he is keeping to his brief. After all, it's the british begging for a deal. They can walk away any time they want.
