Re: Out Drinking.

Some time later in Soho:

However, the atmosphere remained relaxed and the Metropolitan Police said that there were "no significant issues" in the capital.

While people were out in droves at thousands of venues, fears emergency services could be as busy as New Year's Eve appear not to have been realised.

John Apter, the chair of the Police Federation, said: "What was crystal clear is that drunk people can't/won't socially distance."

People in England are still urged to stay 2m apart, but the new "one metre plus" guidance means they can get closer if they use "mitigation" measures, such as face coverings and not sitting face-to-face.
So, good news, bad news .....

..... but where would all those people have gone if it had been raining ......

Not something I'd have any interest in doing, especially these days.
But then, I'm not a covidiot.

Re: Out Drinking.

I think, after seeing the reaction of those party goers that turned on the police the other night, that the police are loathe to enforce anything where crowds are involved.

I suspect simply because they are heavily outnumbered.

Not being allowed to use batons, gas, etc., what can the police do but run away?

This is why the disposal of water cannon was such a ridiculous idea.

Incidentally, in my opinion it is not only the power of water jets pushing the idiots away and off their feet that is so effective, it is also the fact that 'the great unwashed' were so named for very good reason: use of soap and water is an anathema to them!

Re: Out Drinking.

Hi

Some were good, others bad, some awful.

Some were shut by the owners because of stupidity of customers.

I am hoping it will settle down for all our sakes.
