As usual, we will never know because everything is integrated, maybe the Frying Pan and the Fire are one and the same.

You think so?

Confirming there would be no special treatment for carers coming from the EU or the rest of the world, the government said it hoped Britons would fill a shortfall of around 120,000 workers, equating to 10% of all posts. Currently 17% of care jobs are filled by foreign citizens.
Care home staff have been excluded from a post-Brexit fast-track visa system for health workers, in a move that critics say could prove “an unmitigated disaster” and may increase the risk of spreading coronavirus.
During Home Office questions in the Commons, Nick Thomas-Symonds, the shadow home secretary, asked his opposite number, Priti Patel: “What does the government have against care workers?”

Re: Unemployment Worst Ever

Post-Brexit, no deal struck by the UK - whether under WTO terms in general, or bilaterally - will ever be as favourable as those previously enjoyed within the EU.

You are seriously deluded if you think otherwise.

Did you mean "never"? If so then I can not but disagree more.

Regaining our status as an independent nation is beyond price in itself.

The fiscal benefits justify getting out in their own right.

The unemployed will find themselves made to take up jobs they didn't want to as changes in the UK Benefits system WILL be taking place.

Now more than ever we can't afford to pay the bone idle to do nothing or more often work in the black economy AND pay to import people with all the costs they bring with them.

Covid-19 has a hell of a lot of terrible downsides but together with the much needed BREXIT will prove to be not entirely a bummer if it helps us drain the swamp.

Give it a year or two and we'll see if you're still saying that when you (and the rest of us) are on the bones of our arses.

Very few countries on the planet are "independent" any more; that's an obsolete 19th century ideal.

It's interdependence that matters nowadays. (The last 4 months alone should have demonstrated that).

Pulling up the drawbridge and being a little Englander is a lost cause.

But you must surely have read the Immigration points system Solasch? You know that a salary ceiling has been put in place and unfortunately, care workers here are mainly on the minimum wage so do not qualify for the NHS quick entry scheme. Sad, but these are the rules.

Besides, when Furlogh ends in October, the true extent of unemployment here will be known, and it will not be pretty. There will be many of our own citizens desperately looking for jobs to provide for their families, and they are priority.
So I don't think there will be a shortfall of care workers.
