Good Move by the UK - Huawei Rumours

Good to see positive moves from the UK government by using our allies and trading leverage, along with UK talent to get rid of Huawei

It is my opinion that we should steer right away from ALL things Chinese AND bring outsourced manufacturing back from China.
I am sure that like me, most people are fed up with seeing Made in China on most boxes and a label on the article saying the same!

Yep, couldn't agree more. Cheap prices are only OK to a point, once the dependency is established those prices go up anyway.

Turns out Eriksson and Nokia have their 5G stuff made in China too which is why we aren't touching them with a barge pole either.

Nothing good about once again caving-in to the Americans. Because that's all this is about, really.

"Yes sir, no sir, three-bags-full-sir-will your dog eat my dinner sir? - the UK to it's "special relationship" bullying Big Brother across the pond.

So much for post-Brexit "national sovereignty".

Rule Britannia indeed.

So take the US out of the equation, do you consider China to be a trustworthy nation to trade with?

No more or less than Trump's America.
A foreshadowing of our trade deal with the US - what do we get from banishing Huawei? A delayed 5G system, poor relations with China, a crowing Trump and nothing else.

I have over the years had several Huawei phones and tablets. I find them to be excellent and have no intention of changing away from them. They are far better than the iPhone and ipad that I used to have.

I would agree with you as I have had Huawei phones for a few years and love them. Hiwever, thanks to Trump's thuggery, the latest, P40, hs no access to the Google Play Store nor any Google apps, which I would find very restrictive.

What started as a trickle is now a waterfall of western resentment of the Chinese Communist Party and its dictator Jinping. Agree return all outsourced manufacturing from China home and get our local manufacturing industry back on track. Like I have already written.. I worked in white goods/furniture retail in Sydney and up til the early 70s almost all items in Aussie shops were Aussie made. This was before this foreign free trade tariff nonsense killed our manufacturing.

Hi

Our Government is a great believer in Free Trade.

Our manufacturing has been devastated.
