I don't have a problem disagreeing with anybody regardless of who they are. I also don't have a problem if somebody - anybody - disagrees with me. What a monochromatic, boring, nothing world it would be if we all agreed with each other all the time. How the disagreement is expressed is the most important thing. There is a lot of space and opportunity for good debate between the two extremes of always nodding when you really don't agree at all for the sake of peace... and yelling "Bollocks! !! Respect and manners are my two rules. Unless somebody provokes me by being a belligerent pig. Then I treat them like one. or just consider them non existent.

Easy to disagree with people I like - but in a constructive, amiable way. Life would be so boring if everyone always agreed about everything.

Don't bother discussing things with people I don't like.

THat is such a simple but profound truth Tabby. I only learned that relatively recently in life. Sometimes people I don't like say things I do agree with. Then all I have to do is nod. No need for discussion if I can avoid it. BUt then again if I don't like somebody it's usually because of the things they say or how they behave. There's no point in disagreeing. I just walk away.

I'm pretty easy-going, but like ST I won't discuss things with People I don't like especially when They just NEED to be right about everything..Their problem not Mine.

I don't have time for people who talk as if everything that comes out of their mouth is FACT.

My friends tend to make conversation by saying things like, "there was a bloke on TV last night saying ... " or "there was an article in the Mail Online accusing ..."

The best advice my father gave me: "pretend to know less than you really know, and you might learn something :wink:".

Have you noticed pig-headed bullies always pretend to know more than they really know.
