I wish it had been that easy .....

Somehow the Patient Access system mixed my account up with others, resulting, at my end, in an overlap of unrelated personal emails .....

My attempts to obtain a resolution have failed miserably because of a total lack of cooperation from Patient Access .....

The NHS should employ more Nigerian Princes with millions of dollars in the bank. Win-Win all round.

Re: NHS Patient Access - Suspicious Emails

Twice today I have needed to get into my Patient Access account, and each time, afterwards I have received an email from them, telling me my account had been accessed. They told me it was accessed at exactly the right date and time, the type of browser used, and even which version I was on. They also addressed me by my first name.

I'm assuming it was genuine, because they didn't want me to click on anything, in fact they didn't want me to do anything unless it was not me who signed on. If I hadn't signed into my account, I was offered 'An Investigation.'

It put me in mind of an alarming article I read in the paper over the weekend about a Patient Access Cyber attack that the NHS were alerted to.

See what you think:

I wonder whether it's part of the Solarwinds hack.

I believe that sort of verification procedure is quite common - Google certainly perform it .....

A few days ago I received an email from Patient Access apologising for the "confusion" and advising me that none of my data had been lost. Too little, too late - I told them that I had moved to another service and that they could delete my account ..... !

Re: NHS Patient Access - Suspicious Emails

Sorry Omah, you are quite right, it's me getting in a muddle.

My newspaper actually said:

Quote.

" NHS Digital told the Sunday Mirror - "it's system has been the subject of a supply-chain compromise by an unidentified source."
"We have issued a high severity alert to the NHS which explains the action to take to mitigate this threat and we urge organisations to follow these insturctions promptly."

The hacked software is also used by the Medicines and Healthcare roducts Regulatory Agency, responsible for giving final approval to Covid vaccines.

Unquote.

The Americans are blaming Putin and Russia for the hack.

Re: NHS Patient Access - Suspicious Emails

Yes it will be part of the Solarwinds fiasco. The systems were hacked back in March and they only realised now. Lets hope our patient records aren't sold on the dark web...

Patient access won't be explicitly named and neither will the company that runs it. It's going to be far bigger than just one interface.
