I am not sure I share your concerns about force on bearings, tyres being thinner than the wheels.

But I do wonder about - in the real world - the effects of grit and general crap being picked up by the tyres and getting into the mechanisms. Or maybe slowing you down because of blocked entry.

It's a good idea and design but I think the saddle needs some work. I can see why the bloke in the photo is standing on the pedals to ride it.

I wonder how robust the bike is? We'll have to see how they handle bumpy road surfaces and probably some none too gentle bike riders when they come into everyday usage.

I think the ideal bicycle would have wheels around 5 feet in diameter and a couple of feet wide in order to survive most of our potholes.
