A litre of petrol weights ~740g so, 1kg of petrol is equivalent to ~ 1.35lts. At £1.229/lt, 1kg of petrol will cost you ~£1.66.

Hey Tabbles no need to worry, all you really need to remember is that one litre of water weighs one kilogram, so as long as you know the specific gravity of whatever you are buying in litres then you just have to multiply the number of litres by the specific gravity of the material to get the total weight in kilograms. Simples...
