Re: They’ve Removed The Television From The Surgery Waiting Room...

Our old doctors' in Worcester had a TV in the waiting room that showed public service and health related videos only. It was there for about a year and then it disappeared. Never did find out why they had removed it.

Not entirely convinced of a waiting room having an ordinary tv is a particularly good idea. Imagine "getting into" a program and telling the doctor to wait until the ads before you'll be ready to go in and see him/her.

Our Doctor opens the waiting room door and waits for who is due in next, although we all have appointments it seems if you get there early maybe you get to go in early...not tried it and maybe test the Doctor out and see what occurs....

but your watching and finishing a programme first, I found that very funny..definitely a LOL ....chuckle

Re: They’ve Removed The Television From The Surgery Waiting Room...

When the television first appeared in the surgery waiting room, it screened Sky News with subtitles.

Then, that stopped and it just played NHS info, screened pics and names members of staff ie Doctors, Nurses and l think Admin.
This was accompanied by the most awful music that l likened to death music!!

The television was situated on the end wall with people sitting against the two other walls and seating down the middle.
When you looked at the television from the seating furthest away, your eyes would seem as if you were staring at the people nearest the television and l think some found this awkward.

You usually avoid eye contact in a silent waiting room, as you never know where to look.
I usually read everything pinned on the walls!!

That's how laws work Assman, unless repealed they stick with the date they were first enacted, that doesn't mean that they haven't been amended many times since.

Here's a UK one:

Statute of Marlborough 1267 [Waste]

Was originally 29 chapters now amended down to 4
