This is a new version of the service.

Cases at a terrifying high, deaths rising fast, hospitalisations rising fast (as of 2/11), tests well below current capacity of 528,245 (as of 5/11) .....

Re: Coronavirus: Second wave of Covid-19 coming to UK, says PM

In the week to 30 October, ONS says new daily infections in England stabilised at around 50,000. That means around one person in every 90 in England has Covid. In Wales and Scotland the figure is slightly lower. There, one in 110 people are testing positive for the virus. In Northern Ireland it is one in 75 - and it is too soon to say if rates are levelling off there, say experts.

The ONS data looks at Covid-19 infections in the community, and does not include cases in hospitals, care homes or other institutional settings.

It shows:
  • There have been increases in infection rates in every region in England apart from the North East over the last two weeks
  • The North West and Yorkshire and the Humber continue to have the highest infection rates

Cases remaining high, deaths rising fast, hospitalisations rising slower (as of 6/11), tests LESS THAN HALF current capacity of 530,000* (as of 9/11) .....

* "Incompetent" Harding has had the gall, yet again, to defend the appalling figures before a Parliamentary Committee today .....

Running Very Late

Due to a delay in processing England deaths data, the deaths figures for England and UK have not been updated. These will be updated as soon as possible.

Breaking: UK reports massive jump in daily cases to record high

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-54908680

A record 33,470 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the UK in the past day, official data shows.

It is the highest daily figure since mass testing began in the UK, and brings the total number of cases to more than 1,290,000.

Thursday's daily number of cases showed a 45.8% increase on Wednesday's figure of 22,950.
Now that's a really frightening figure - if maintained, that would mean almost 250,000 new cases A WEEK, 1,000,000 new cases a MONTH .....
