Re: Ageism

This post has not gone down too well with me. It,s the same old, same old. Everyone wants to get old and reach a ripe old age but to the younger generation we are a just a bloody pain in the rump. If it were not for the older generation the younger generation would not be here. What harm do we 'oldies' do to you of a younger generation. Do we go around mugging others. Do we carry knives and other offensive weapons and attack others just for 'fun'. Remember, with a bit of luck you too will get old one day.
I am probably the oldest member of this forum (92) and it hurts to hear comments like this.

Re: Ageism

I was cut up at a traffic calming device a couple of years back .
Right in front of a school too..
The bloke roared into it and made me stop even though it was my right of way.
I turned my car around and followed him he eventually realised this and stopped and came out and verbally abused me ( I had locked the doors when he got out of his car)

I told him why I was following him and he told me I as an old woman should know better !

I said I did and had written down his number and was now calling the police !

At this he weakened and apologised .( grudgingly but I still had my phone in my hand )

I probably would not do this today I might get knifed .

How will banning septuagenarians or older help you young whippersnappers?

Re: Ageism

Why call it over50s? if a person was 50 when this site started they will be 60 now, and 70 in another 10 years time, it just seems 50 no longer has any significance.
