Christmas Pudding and those Silver Coins!

Christmas Day, coming closer by the minute, and those wonderful Christmas Puddings, complete with silver coins (enough so that each child finds one).

Historically, all Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, love this tradition.

It's lit up, in the kitchen and everyone sings "We wish you.....", etc as it is carried in.

One of the great British Customs now spread around the world, according to the write up here:-

https://simonewalsh.com/blogs/handma...ory-traditions

I don't see this as an advert, but it tells us the history quite well.

Off I go to find a good Sainsbury's Pud and some silver coins!

Yummy.

p.s. I even allow some of my Pusser's rum to be used !

On the bottle it says 54.5% ALC/Vol

Perhaps why it was always watered down for the ratings!

I always seemed to find the sixpence when I was young.

Mmm? I wonder if my Mum made sure I got it?

I remember the silver coins in the Christmas Puddings but it was always a silver threepenny bit in ours, not silver sixpences.
