That's a bit small for an oven bottom cake/loaf. Around here, they're about ten inches in diameter and maybe two inches thick. You cut it into slices to make sandwiches - a bit of Dairylea and piccalilli is my favourite.

It's a Lancashire oven bottom - perhaps you have bigger mouths/larger appetites in Yorkshire .....
Only in Leeds and Hull apparently, it's a teacake everywhere else in West Yorkshire. Guess what we call a teacake with currants in it?
A dead fly bun? ..... anyway Judd its well known folks in Leeds and Hull are better informed than elsewhere in Yorkshire.... you can't be right all the time ye knaw
