Re: I've had my chest x-ray

No word about PIP - I think I should get something and if it covers the taxi fares I'll be happy.

Chase it up Dreamy. You are a special case, and you should have it by now.

If the special rules apply your claim will be fast-tracked Ffosse.

I think you have to be in receipt of PIP to qualify for hospital transport. When you phone to request transport they ask questions. You could always ask for transport, they'll tell you if you qualify.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

Went to bed very late for me - 12:00 and awoke quite early at 7:30.

I've nothing on today apart from my Tesco delivery between 1 and 2. Tomorrow my CT scan is at an odd time - 4:30. I think I prefer appointments earlier in the day.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

Just got a letter from the DWP/PIP people. I've been awarded the standard rate for both the daily living and mobility components. I'm rather pleased - that will cover my taxi fares and more.

I didn't realise that it was paid every 4 weeks and not fortnightly. I got it backdated from the middle of April which is when I first contacted them and no face to face assessment, just the form, but they had letters from my Consultant and G.P. so that must have helped them make up their mind. Quite a nice sum. Got a pleasant shock when I checked my balance on my phone

Money isn't everything but it does help. That's £319.80 every 4 weeks. And I can stop feeling resentful about all those taxis.
