Re: The new passports (Post-Brexit)
Morning everyone, just reading that our post-Brexit passports are to be made by a Franco-Dutch firm Gemalto, after they outbid our British firm, De La Rue, by undercutting them in the bid by £50million.Re: The new passports (Post-Brexit)
I am not happy that so many contracts go to foreign countries but I would imagine that there are certain EU rules in place which we have to adhere to until we officially leave. All the more reason for leaving the European thieving scumbags I say.Re: The new passports (Post-Brexit)
Listening to the Today programme, it has not yet been finally decided to whom the contract will be awarded for providing passports .Re: The new passports (Post-Brexit)
Re: The new passports (Post-Brexit)
Anyway de la rue have issued profit warnings in the past and the favoured bidder is larger and has digital expertise. De la rue is focused on printing. So there is more to this and British companies should look at their ability to adapt in a changing economic and technical climate.Re: The new passports (Post-Brexit)
