Thank you, Muddy, I would have been worried if humans were up there!

Your original post made me feel sad and very hypocritical as, all though I do not eat pork joints, I do like the occasional bacon sandwich.

I don't know but parrot must be up there somewhere, my African Grey is super intelligent.
I also think monkeys will be up there and they say dolphins are very intelligent too.

Nothing like a bacon butty with a dollop of tomato ketchup on brown bread for breakfast...

Re: Pigs

When sanctuaries have rescued pigs the joy of these creatures being allowed to run free for the first time, is a joy to behold. They are playful and affectionate and the thought of hacking off a lump of their body to put in a sandwich is revolting.

Re: Pigs

Someone locally has the most enormous pig they walk on a harness and lead, it's really friendly but my dogs get every upset when they see him so I never get to say hello.

Do you have any reservations about hacking off a lump of Beef for a roast or a leg of lamb, a chicken leg, breast of Turkey,
a fillet of Cod or Bass, or a nice ham sandwich, I have no reservation at all in eating any of the afore mentioned what was good enough for my ancestors is good enough for me
