No I must admit I have never seen anyone scrubbing a doorstep in my life, or wearing those sort of clothes.

I do both the front and back doorsteps, but with a mop and bucket. I do them whenever I do the kitchen and bathroom floors. Floors first then the steps.

I clean my stair once a month. As there are only 2 houses in my stair this isn't a long job.

Oh Art ..you worry me sometimes with the things you think of
Times change don't they ..I'm sure today's women can think of much pleasanter things to while away their time.
I look back to those days and the women were "grim an determined"...not all by any means but the doorstep scrubbers were a hardy breed

Hi Aysa, I don’t think my mind or imagination does ‘normal’!

It occured to me, that you never see women scrubbing their front step these days. Yet, it was a normal, daily chore for many, years ago!
