Wow that sounds great Summer. There was a bird singing in my garden, about 7 last night, but I couldn't see it. It made a lovely sound so I wish I'd had Birdnet then!

The RSPB has a very good website that has facilities for identifying birds, it also gives the song of that bird once identified. A very different use from the BirdNET app. mentioned in previous posts but all the same very useful and interesting:

This is the friendly female blackbird I mentioned earlier. I was sitting on the garden bench. The bird was about 8 - 10 feet away picking up some food I'd put down.

It's a wild bird food mix that has what looks like sultanas in it. The bird seems to favour these. I think that's what it is holding.

we have a cat who comes for his breakfast...not a stray, he lives two doors down,,,,he's lovely...the birds come to the garden too, and he never bothers them. one female blackbird comes to the door, if it's open she comes into the kitchen, just inside the door, I always buy a cheap loaf from the supermarket for them ,

Hello paula & welcome to the forum.
When I am home in warm weather I often leave my back door open and, as it is quiet here,I often get cats & birds ;lookimg for food. Animals know how to how to get out, but I am afraid that I have to catch at least 3 bumble bees a week and release them outside!
