Re: Mad Max is 40

I thought The last Mad Max film, Fury Road, was one of the noisiest, and most confusing films I've ever seen. Boy! was I glad when it finally finished, I thought my head was going to explode! Strangely enough, I did'nt mind the other ones in the series.

Omah hasn't got enough on his list IMO

Star Wars is just made to sell merchandise like so many films these days.
The Lavender Hill Mob has been on the TV,that's more my thing.

The question was "What popular blockbusters do you never want to see?"

So, I used a "Top 100" to extract a selection for the purpose of illustration .....

Apparently, Hollywood alone makes 600 films (including popular blockbusters) a year, of which I might want to see two or three ..... then there's the rest of the film industry in the USA and all of the film industry in the rest of the world making movies so I guess there are tens of thousands of films that I never want to see .....

Re: Mad Max is 40

I've seen and enjoyed all the Mad Max films.
The second is my favourite, it has an almost mythic quality. The third is the worst.
The first has very poor (extremely minimal budget?) production values but has to be seen to find out why Max is mad.
The most recent has almost no story but is an astonishing spectacle, especially the first almost dialogue-free 30 minutes that are knackering for the viewer.

Re: Mad Max is 40

I remember going to the flicks and seeing Mad Max - great film.
I thought the second was best though. Didn't like the third, but Fury road was ok despite it was not Gibson as Max.
