Re: Anybody from Wales?

Arghhhh! Power of attorney! I have recently had to take power of attorney for a friend of mine. What a nightmare that was. The forms did my head in.

I wanted my children to have POA when my husband became ill in 2006, in order to stop me screwing up too badly. He had always been in charge of our business affairs, and to be frank I haven't got a clue! It was easier to get POA then. Our solicitor very kindly didn't even charge us for drawing up the papers. He had known us for well over 30 years, and wanted to do us this favour before he retired.

Re: Anybody from Wales?

You were lucky to have a solicitor to represent you for nothing, as I made enquiries and got quoted anything between £400 and £1000. In the end I decided I could do it myself, and I did. Wasn't easy though, but live and learn eh?

Re: Anybody from Wales?

How much is your property on for now Qetta?

I think the estate agents are to blame - they're too quick to inflate house prices so they get more commission, and then we end up with 'busts' where they have to come down :-/
