Let's face it, even if there was a site chosen, and work began tomorrow, the port would not be ready for the next decade. So, given that 'Brexit' starts next year or the year after - what will you do for the next eight or nine years???
Brighton ?

No wonder you're such a loser with an attitude like that.... However, that notwithstanding, we already have a large container port at Felixstowe which could be developed quite quickly, and until then we will just have to continue to do what's necessary. Many independent resources will have to be developed after Brexit but this is all to the good surely, more infrastructure equals more jobs equals more prosperity.... although as you are a communist I can understand why you wouldn't that....

Erm .. trying not to smirk here ... that'd be so much better than wrapping fairy lights around anything as grossly phallic as a lighthouse.

We already have at least 2 in the south Harwich and too a lesser extent Tilbury.....am sure that there will be others in the North and Scotland that can meet these needs with out having to building anything new.

Yes, like all remainiacs, he only wants to look on the black side; what the Aussies would call a 'whingeing Pom'.

Of course we could handle large cargo ships. What the Cloggies did at Rotterdam, we could do at one of several existing ports.

The only stumbling block is to overcome the dillying and dallying of Theresa May.

In fact, now that Rudderless has gone, perhaps May might soon follow and we might, just might, get a strong Brexiteer in her place.

Hi

Who is this mythical WE?

It will be a commercial decision.

Felixstowe can already handle the largest container ships .

The shipping companies make a financial decision as to whether to stop there or trans ship from the Continental ports.

Market forces.

If we want to buy goods, but the EU apply some sort of tariff for goods going through Rotterdam, then if the shipping companies want to sell goods at a price that people will pay, they may well decide it is more attractive to ship direct.

Hi

Exactly, it will be market forces and the decisions will be made by foreign owned companies who are solely concerned with profit.

There is no we about it.

The decisions will be taken abroad.
