Re: Posture

I've had poor posture all my life (stand up straight, Johnny, my mother started telling me at about age 5? 7?). So, I'm wondering, has anyone found any exercise/piece of equipment/routine, etc. that has really worked for you? Love to hear from you. Thanks

Re: Posture

As far as standing goes, keep the shoulders pulled back and the stomach tucked in if at all possible.

I used to have one of these kneeling chairs. They are okay but I found I still needed to lean forwards to use the keyboard, otherwise you are looking down from your eyes with your head upright which isn't practical.

Re: Posture

Hi, there are many ideas on the internet, even an app to remind you to stand up straight.

What works for me.

1. Abdominal crunches. Pulling your stomach in while standing will force you to stand up straight.

2. Watch TV standing with your heels and shoulders backed up to a wall. Start with five minutes and add time every few days until you can stand straight for 30 mins.

3. Tell your family and friends to remind you to stand up straight. My daughter and I are posture partners.

Hope this helps.

Re: Posture

Do the old fashioned thing.

Walk in a straight line with a book balancing on your head.

Re: Posture

The trouble with trying to improve our posture is that we forget and go back to slouching.

This is very endearing, Summer. She had high hopes and expectations for you.
