No idea as I don't bake - or cook come to that - I needs a woman (who can bake/cook I might add) *sobs* . Darn, now you got me all depressed and no incredients here for me to try to make stuff either. Oh whoa is me...

Cup cakes are American sugary topped over decorated monstrosities our English fairly cakes are small delicate sponges with little decorations. Cupcakes are not and can never be fairy cakes unless they are for enormous fairy elephants


Sorry Audrey they are just one import too far for this traditional English cake maker.

You could just go and buy some and have fun decorating them (they won't taste the same as homemade but if you didn't bother to learn, on your own head be it )

Cup cakes yuk all that frosting, it would make me feel depressed and a bit sick making and eating them with all that sugar. Give me a Victoria sandwich. lemon drizzle cake or a scone any day.

One thing I miss on my diet is a nice slice of seed cake you really can't beat that or a lemon drizzle really.

I miss making Chelsea Buns but I have no airing cupboard anymore, or a fire to put them in front of, for them to rise and shop bought ones just aren't the same.

I find put the oven on low and put yeast based cakes and breads on a chair in front of the open door seems to work well, just have to make sure the kitchen door is shut here or Mollie helps herself !
