Twizard,do not ever sell yourself short!

That little eight liner is brilliant, perfect really, you had just enough room to say what you wanted, the reason i made it eight lines was specifically to force contributors to rhyme.
It works, any longer and it gets pedantic, any shorter and it just does not quite do it,but eight lines i worked out was optimum length.

Your verse is perfect.Thank You.

Billy, we have the same problem with forum rules ..... some people tend to ignore them

Re: A Poem-"The Over 50's Forum"

I like a littly ditty Twiz
I can hum along just fine
I think your such a whiz to think of it
and boy does it save time
only 4 more lines to go then I'll have a little rhyme
together with my ditty Twiz
this work will all be mine
I wish I was a poet who could write in verse all day
about this and that and t'other but I can't so I'll quietly fade away.

Good one Twiz this is a comment not to be confused with attempted poem.

Can it be called "Ode to Twiz", then I can say there is one!

No 'mob' are we nor 'fossils' neither,
but genuine folk who like a natter.

We give support to those who want it
and share wise words with care and a keen wit.

We don’t like rude or aggressive people,
the hand of friendship is extended to the reasonable,

Members come and members go,
the ones who stay are honest and true.

All i have tried to do here Mags is get some of the quieter members to try something new with their brains, anyone can make words rhyme, but people get put off by the more "in your face" members and do not contribute as much as they would like, not everyone is "out there" and personality plus, some members need a filip, this is what i tried to do,get people to exercise their brains in a different way, think outside the square, dare to "shoot off on a tangent",just trying to "coax" the inner expression out of people, its there in all of us,I just wanted the quieter members to do something outside their comfort zone, for a change,I just wanted them to write an 8 line verse and see what it feels like for others to say to them "Well Done""

It's a very good idea Billy but don't forget they are all novices and may need just that extra leeway of a line or two to make their poem understandable

I would probably need a whole page to make sense of my poem!

You'd be well advised to follow your own advice Billy - if you can't take it, then don't dish it out.
