Re: 10000 steps

I don't have the energy to do 1000 steps, let alone 10,000

Re: 10000 steps

I've never taken to step counters they are a bit too random and not accurate enough for me, but if if they encourage you to get out and do some exercise Muddy then that's a great piece of kit, but if you really want to get serious about the amount of exercise you do, splash out on a GPS.....

Re: 10000 steps

I've got an Apple Watch with GPS, heart-rate and all sorts of health related things built in yet I use about a tenth of its capabilities.

Before my cancer I was exercising for 6 months and easily did more than 10000 steps a day, but at one point I was down to 9 stone 7. I'm sure that my exercising played a part in my developing Hodgkins Lymphoma. I wasn't eating enough, either.

Re: 10000 steps

I did 12388 steps yesterday but only six stories .
I did 7455 on iunday but 37 stories .
So gradient must be important for a good workout .
I don't know if it's better to walk further on the flat or shorter on steeper slopes .
Walking uphill may get the heart beating faster .

Re: 10000 steps

None of these devices are very accurate, what I found best was to measure 50 paces, lets say (in my case) that's 42 yards, Divide 1760 yards (one mile) by 42, and multiply by 50 = 2095 paces per mile, and one mile walked takes 15 minutes, so one hour would be, ball park 8400 paces and four miles.

Re: 10000 steps

They're absolutely accurate if they have GPS.
