BBC! Christmas day.

I love the series but this special Christmas edition bored me.

I have recorded but not watched it yet.

I haven't found it so good since the adaptations of Jennifer Worth's original stories finished and Heidi Thomas used different material ( some from midwives who contacted her)

I found the original stories very poignant and so reminiscent of my childhood in the 'drab' 50's when we all had very little after the war years but what we had we shared with our neighbours.

I'm currently being forced to endure this. It doesn't seem any more boring than previous episodes, in fact it may be more interesting though I'm not sure how accurate it is. The problems with healthcare in the Highlands and Islands was recognised early in the 20th century resulting in the Highlands and Islands Medical Service, predating the NHS.
