The fact she didn't rush you and explained this properly must have made such a difference. Take each day as it comes Deylon x

It gives some peace of mind to know for sure what ails you, and yo can now focus on getting the treatment needed.

You should notice a boost in wellness after the blood infusion.

Re: Saw specialist Today

It depends upon how many units they give you. I was given 1 unit recently as an in-patient and it took 2 hours so if you get 2 units it will be 4 hours.

The anaemia would account for a lot of your poorly feelings.

I hope the transfusion works well for you Deylon.

My Mum had a dozen or more transfusions Deylon. She was usually at the hospital for the day each time.
She only used to sit in a chair there, with the equipment next to her. She didn't have to go to bed there.
You should feel much improved afterwards.

It isn't much good asking how long we had to wait because all hospitals are different and have different work schedules and waiting lists. Also, as has already been said, it depends on how many units they think you need.

Try to stop worrying because if it is urgent, I am sure they will fit you in much quicker. Good luck.

Re: Saw specialist Today

Deylon, I had a blood transfusion many years ago and, apart from you needing to take the drip with you if you need the toilet, it is just a case of sitting still till you have been given the correct amount. I needed 6 pints so was kept in for a few days but I think yours will just take a few hours.

Don't worry about it, but do take something to read & ask if you should eat anything that will help your condition. I think I was told to eat liver, but not overcook it, and plenty of green veg, like spring cabbage.

Treat it as an opportunity to sit back and do nothing, while they work on making you feel better.
