That's one side of the story, and it may be true, but a GTI, driven by a car reviewer, in the slow lane .....

Re: How did lorry driver not realize

From the Mirror :
Confirming claims that the car driver was Jack Joy from Car Throttle, colleague Alex Kersten said: To everyone asking, yes, this is Jack from Car Throttle.
Call me cynical if you will, however, I smell a rat here.
Could it be a stunt for Car Throttle?
How did the VW get in that position?
If it joined the A40 from a sliproad in front of the lorry, how did it end up sideways?
If it did join the A40 and was 'clipped' by the lorry, surely the lorry driver would have noticed and pulled over?
Pushing a car along the road sideways would have meant plenty of friction and a huge reduction in the speed of the lorry
When the vehicles eventually stopped, why didn't the lorry driver reverse from the VW's drivers door?

Sorry to upset you, Muddy, but they're already here!

Horrible things, and dangerous.
One good thing, though, is that many drivers seem to avoid the inside lane (which used to be the hard shoulder), which is very sensible in my opinion.
That, in effect, is keeping the inside lane as a hard shoulder for breakdowns and emergency vehicles in case of a major accident.
Of course, there will always be those who continue to use it.

Good shout JBR and there will always be drivers that 'hog' the middle lane for miles upon miles. This, as you know, is illegal, the same as 'tail gating' It can never be controlled by the police, yet the practice is still evident on our roads today.
