You have a true gift Muddy. Although I always prefer your sketches when they are half done. The way you captured the light in post #11 is amazing. It's like the dog is there in real life.

Annie I know what you mean I like my second sketch better too!
I belong to the ‘can draw can’t paint ‘ group.
Somehow painting seems to take away the initial ‘life ‘ of the drawing .
BTW my dog is here standing or rather lying here .
He is far too lively to be a proper model and in repose looks like a heap of hairy rags .

Hi Muddy - I have, so far, only used the white on Parchment and for blending with other colours - it seems to work OK in that context.

Maybe the white only works on certain paper I am using just an old bit of cartridge.
