I would have thought people would be queuing up to move into that care home, if the photos are a sample of the rest of the place.

That does look nice Cassie and a far cry from the place my grandmother had to live in which was austere to say the least; she wasn't ill-treated there but little thought or importance was given to aesthetics. I hope your Mom settles in quickly and enjoys her lovely en-suite room

Thanks all Still battling with the financial breakdown tho as I cant fill so much in having no access to all her bank details & mum is no help as she cant remember anything!

It is a pity you haven't got power of attorney, Cassie. I have ensured our kids have POA where we are concerned, if needed.

Im worried about things affecting the benefit I get. Mum was all set to add me to her account as a joint holder but I read the dss occasionally investigate claiments. Im just so stressed about it all

Looks a lovely place Cassie.
I don't know how it all affects benefits and such, but I was joint on my mothers account and it was so much easier for us.
I would suggest you go the benefits office and explain the situation fully.
After all, you are not going to gain financially but you do need to take over or help mum with her money and other affairs.
Good luck .... and don't get yourself stressed about it, help is there.

Thanks.. im just getting a bit dithery lol Its such a nightmare getting a meeting with mums social worker & it costs me £25 in petrol to go & see her so can only go once a week. I know she'll be able to advise on the form but shes a bit of a wet blanket. Benefits office is 30 miles in opposite direction too.. I just have no one to help me around here
