Re: Phrases that get up my nose!!!

All of those mentioned and Cassie yes 'Ticks all the boxes' really annoys me - plus

"Know what I mean"?

"Me, personally"

"At the end of the day"

and probably loads more that we will all remember later

Re: Phrases that get up my nose!!!

What about -
"think outside the box"
"matter of fact"
"don't mind me but.."
"have a nice day"
"how are WE today"
"don't want to get involved but..."
"see you soon" - when soon might be next month/year

Re: Phrases that get up my nose!!!

All of those above irritate me and not so far mentioned:-

The situation going forward

What the heck is wrong with:-

The situation in the future

I suppose some of these modern 'media' inventions have some use, but where there is a perfectly good expression already in common use why change it

'Ticks all the boxes' people used to say 'meets all the requiirements' which seems like a perfectly good expression to me.

Re: Phrases that get up my nose!!!

Lots already mentioned-another one for you

'Get over yourself' - (don't know how to do that )

One my Nephew uses all the time is 'no probs'-ask him something and thats what you get...don't think he knows the word 'yes'

Going to have a think see if I can remember anymore........
