In my thoughts too, Stephan...

Sunny and warming up finally: 17 C (62 F), and will make about 23 C by afternoon!! About time, has been below normal for days. Didn't need to go to the market so just pottered and made a jar of pickled beets; exciting morning!

Re: Sunday Saga

This afternoon our eldest grandson, who had been playing outside with his brother and cousins came to tell us he was just been sitting next to a kestrel, which he had been stroking. The lad has Asperger's syndrome and is not noted for making up stories. When we went to investigate, sure enough there was a young kestrel sitting on the ground in the shubbery. It appeared to have a hole above its eye, probably the result of shot from the shoot in the meadow next to us. Anyway the kids looked after it until the RSPCA arrived to take it to a sanctuary.

Re: Sunday Saga

Aw bless him. Kestrels are lovely birds. Good for your grandson and the others for looking after it, DS.

Hope it survives OK.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Sunday Saga

Dancingsky, well done to your Grandson and everyone else for looking after the Kestrel-they are lovely birds.

Relaxing day today-got up to heavy frost, blue sky and sunshine. Walking this morning and then after dinner met my friend and went walking along canal for about 2 hrs. A cold night tonight again-could drop to -3-now that is cold!!!!!!!!
