Something missing ?

I am starting to wonder if I have a vital part of my body missing, I have been told for years exercise and afterwards you get a huge rush of endorphins but when I exercise nothing ... just sweaty out of breath and feeling like I want a lay down.

So my conclusion I have an organ missing - the one that produces endorphins LOL

anyone else have that one missing ?

I don't find it particularly pleasurable either. It's a chore..

Exercise is pleasurable if it is an enjoyable exercise and not a 'chore'

I would be bored to tears going to a gym, but I love music and dance so my zumba exercise class is fun and pleasurable and a damned good workout too.

Mind you, if you don't get the endorphin rush, it means you arent working hard enough.

Re: Something missing ?

When I first retired I started going to a gym and was bored to tears. Now we go walking in the countryside..........much more pleasurable.

Re: Something missing ?

If you exercise in a class or group, it helps enormously if you enjoy the teacher and he/she has a sense of humour and can make the class fun.
If they can get the class laughing, you start feeling good naturally.
In fact, come to think of it, I wonder if the lousy ones steal your endorphins when you're not looking, now that's a thought.

Re: Something missing ?

The only exercise I like is one I undertook today: pulling out bindweed from my fruit bushes on the allotment, and the odd ones from the ground, and collecting the last few blackcurrants.

Gentle, satisfying, and you don't even have to think about it much. Actually I let my mind wander to other things.
