Re: Winter wednesday

Hi, all. It's up to -1 (30 F) now, "warmest" in a fortnight, and will get better as the day progresses,,, a welcome change, plus it's sunny too. Had planned to go to the market but felt lazy and postponed till tomorrow; also need to pick up holds at the library. Someone mentioned daffodils starting to show leaves coming up; not here; nor no signs of buds emerging on the hellebores; it has been a really frigid Winter here. That's about all my dull news.

Fingers crossed that it will rain later this week for you all and wash away the snow and ice; stay safe and warm.

Re: Winter wednesday

Still 'winter wednesday' here with more snow having fallen today and now it has frozen over Wonders will never cease though- a gritter went up my road this morning and was actually spreading grit!!!!!! Think this could be due to the fact that yesterday and again this morning there have been 3 accidents where cars have slid down the slight slope and crashed into other parked cars! Whatever the reason, the road has been gritted Again I managed to get to work and home again safely......tomorrow might not be so good because of the snow that has fallen today...Apparently we are going to be 'thawed out' at weekend-I really hope so. Keep safe and keep warm.

We don't usually get it like this Mags-I think it must be over 30 years ago since we had so much snow which has lasted for so long. We are supposed to be protected by the Pennines, but seemingly not this year Just been speaking with my Brother in Ashburne and they are now snowed in-he's never been snowed in whilst he's lived there-maybe they shouldn't have bought a house on top of a hill

Sounds bad

Better to have a house on top of a hill than at the bottom when all that snow melts
