Quite a few places cook them, about £4 a small portion.
Hmm,

I need to give them a try then....

Don't do it Fender - they are revolting! They don't even taste like chips! One of our garden centre/cafe type places has started serving them and they are just nasty.

Sorry, Pauline, to each his own, I suppose.

I've never even heard of triple fried chips.
Why on earth would you want to cook something three times?

It must be horribly over cooked, let alone all that fat and oil?
Don't think I fancy that at all.

Mags, that is how I learnt to cook, triple fried chips,..could never go back to ordinary ones,

I did find though, that you have to get the right potato,..I use Albert Bartlet,.

fender,if you follow Heston recipe, you can't go wrong,

He also has ,a three star,Michelin Restaurant.very talented .

I have to be honest,it took me a while to get the chips right,I was determined, and I now cook them to perfection,..modest ain't I?..

It is also time wasting!

Can't beat proper traditional chips, in my opinion anyway.

Re: Why Do Older People Love Fish And Chips?

All this talk of fish and chips made me fancy it, so had a lovely haddock & chips yesterday at David Austin Roses.... with minted mushy peas.

Thoroughly enjoyed it.
