The Rain

Hi

Well the forecast was for isolated showers.

Our shower seems to have been isolated over my little spot for a good hour and absolutely pouring it down.

Lights are on, the water is streaming off the roads.

I have had to turn the volume up on the TV because of the noise on the conservatory roof.

The Great British Summer.

Re: The Rain

Well, I cancelled something because the forecast was for heavy rain this afternoon, but apart from a light smattering around lunchtime, it hasn't materialised.

Re: The Rain

When we had our conservatory rebuilt and upgraded we opted for a heat reflecting/ retaining glass panel roof because the noise on the twin wall plastic type was terrible. Now we don't even hear the rain on it. lso it does improve the look as well as being self cleaning.

Seems those of us further East of you copped yours as well, and yes, you're entirely welcome to all the rain I can send you.

Now Teazle's boudoir as she spends a lot of time on one of the two settees in there

beginning of the upgrade

What we had taken down.

Why? because they used soft wood on the sills which had rotted away instead of sing hard wood. The doors were swollen for the same reason and hard to open. In actual fact who ever built it did it on the cheap

Now it is all UPVC, no rot no painting etc etc far better

Re: The Rain

When we upgraded our conservatory Realspeed, after much thought, we decided to have a hard top - all fully insulated, tiled and plastered out with two velux windows in the roof. Hardly any light lost and it allows us to use it all year round. No noise at all from the rain and warm as toast. We took out the connecting doors as well and it is now the place we spend most of our time.

Re: The Rain

we left the connecting wood frame sliding door as it provides extra security as it has locks as well, as seen in the above photo
