Thanks, Mags, it has been a long and painful journey. The hospital are providing a special 'bandage shoe' for me to wear - and one of my lovely neighbours is collecting me when it is all over.

Thank you, Psmith. Yes, I have been stir crazy since it happened (10th March !). Surgeon says 2 x days off my feet, 2 - 3 weeks back to full mobility, 12 x months to regrow the nail.
