Would You Tell Someone, Their Baby Looked Like A Rat?

My daughter said, one of her male colleagues brought in his new baby to show everyone in the office.

One of the men, told the new father that his baby looked like...a rat!

I know, not all new babies are pretty but there’s no need to say something horrid...

Should you say horrid things like that to people?
Could you say something like that, thinking you were only telling the truth?

That’s a horrible thing to say about a baby, some people just don’t know how hurtful they can be.

I was taught that if I didn't have something nice to say then I should say nothing - it's a shame that horrible man wasn't taught the same!

I was taught the exact same thing.
I don't always follow that guideline, but I sure as shit wouldn't be slagging off the appearance of a baby to the newborns parents!

I think the person who said it must have had a pretty close friendship with the father for it not to have been rude.
